We’ve been hearing tons of worrying news about HTC lately – from production issues and many company executives abandoning the company. According to an anonymous source, an HTC executive cited by WSJ, HTC One is selling “pretty good so far”. The executive revealed that HTC sold about 5 million One units since launch, which is not bad at all considering that HTC had few production issues and component shortages.

HTC executive told WSJ:

“Orders are pretty good so far and are still more than what we can supply. This is partly due to the shortage of components. When the issue is resolved next month, we will have a better idea if it’s doing really well or not.”

Its impressive that HTC has managed to sell 5 million HTC One units in a month. However, they’ll need to do alot of catching up to Samsung’s Galaxy S4 10 million sales mark by the end of May. Peter Chou’s job is on the line since he vowed to step down from HTC if HTC One fails to bring a turnaround to the company.
